Meanwhile, her iconic co-stars—Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, and Ellie Kemper—delighted the audience with their witty banter and cherished memories.

Wendi McLendon-Covey was one of the many faces fans expected to see at the Oscars this year; however, the actress entirely skipped the eventful night. Wendi McLendon-Covey reveals why she did not attend the Oscars 2026

Taking to her social media handle, the actress revealed she was recovering from surgery, which is why she couldn’t attend the grand celebration of films on Sunday. However, the star hilariously clarified the news by posting a photo of herself lying in bed with a stretch band wrapped around her head for support. The actress added a witty caption that read, “I had a neck lift last week because I’m tired of looking like a melting candle. So I had to skip the Academy Awards. No drama. Everything is fine.”

‘Bridesmaids’ reunion a huge success at the Oscars this year

While Covey was home recovering from her surgery, fellow co-stars Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, and Ellie Kemper had the time of their lives at the Oscars, celebrating their much-awaited reunion. The ladies were invited together on stage at the Academy Awards to present the Oscar for Best Original Score. Before announcing the winner of the prestigious award, the cast joked about the reunion. Kristen commented, “We are so happy to all be here together tonight. I cannot believe that it’s been 15 years now. We are not good with numbers, but we figured it out backstage. That means we shot this movie in 1883.”Byrne, who was nominated for her role in ‘If I Had Legs I’d Kick You’, also read a hilarious note that was supposedly written by fellow actor Leonardo DiCaprio, and said, “‘Rose, can you please stop looking at me? The eye contact is too much. I’m thinking of leaving. I’m very uncomfortable.’”
