'Project Hail Mary' Super Bowl trailer: Ryan Gosling befriends an alien Rocky on his space mission

The Super Bowl trailers have released beginning with an action-packed trailer for ‘Project Hail Mary’, starring Ryan Gosling in the lead. The final trailer of the film was released online, treating fans to new footage from the sci-fi space adventure. Directed by Oscar-winning filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and based on Andy Weir’s New York Times bestselling novel, the film follows scientist Ryland Grace (Gosling), a former teacher who wakes up alone on a spacecraft light years from Earth with no memory of who he is or how he got there.WATCH: ‘Project Hail Mary’ Super Bowl trailer As his memories slowly return, Grace realises he has been sent on a mission to solve the mystery of a dying suns and stars, threatening life on Earth, which may soon go extinct. Grace must race against time and the elements of space to save the human race and all life on Earth. The new trailer airing before the Super Bowl, teases an unlikely friendship with Rocky, a mysterious and friendly alien lifeform, who accompanied Grace on his mission. In one exchange, Rocky tells him, “If Grace, Rocky save stars, we can go home,” to which Grace responds quietly, “I think this is a one-way trip for me,” thus setting the tone for an emotional plot. ‘Project Hail Mary’ cast and release dateProject Hail Mary also stars Sandra Huller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, Milana Vayntrub and Priya Kansara. The film is set for release exclusively in theatres and IMAX on March 20, 2026.
