Vikram Bhatt on title change for Haunted – Echoes Of The Past

Vikram Bhatt on title change for ‘Haunted – Echoes Of The Past’: 'Can’t make ghost film without believing in superstition”

Vikram Bhatt’s Haunted – Echoes Of The Past, releasing June 12, was earlier titled Ghosts Of The Past. He said the change was influenced by superstition. Addressing AI criticism, he denied its use in the film. Starring Mimoh Chakraborty and others, the film is produced by Anand Pandit and Rakesh Juneja.

Vikram Bhatt found major success with ‘Haunted 3D’ (2011), a film that not only became a sleeper hit but also showed in the 3D wave in Bollywood. With its legacy, the upcoming installment in the franchise, set to hit screens on June 12, has generated significant buzz. Interestingly, the project was earlier known as ‘Haunted – Ghosts Of The Past’. However, the motion poster unveiled yesterday, while announcing the release date, revealed a new title: ‘Haunted – Echoes Of The Past’.

Vikram Bhatt explains why ‘Haunted – Echoes Of The Past’ was renamed

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Vikram Bhatt said, “The Haunted films are not just about ghosts. At its heart, it’s a poignant love story. Meanwhile, the film was getting delayed for some reason or another and also, I had to face incarceration. A very close friend of mine said that this is probably happening due to the word ‘Ghost’ in the title. He told me, ‘Title mein se Ghost ko hata do’. I told him, ‘Theek hai. Hata dete hai (smiles)’. That’s how we came up with Echoes Of The Past. I never believed in such things until now. Also, you can’t make a ghost film without believing in superstition”.

Vikram Bhatt reacts to AI criticism around ‘Haunted – Echoes Of The Past’

A section of the audience criticized the use of AI in the motion poster. Responding to the concerns, Vikram Bhatt clarified, “This is how motion posters are designed. But I can assure you that there’s absolutely no AI in the film at all.” When quizzed about the teaser of ‘Haunted – Echoes Of The Past’, he shared, “We plan to release it this month itself.”

Cast and details of ‘Haunted – Echoes Of The Past’

Mimoh Chakraborty returns in ‘Haunted – Echoes Of The Past’, just like in ‘Haunted’. He is joined by Chetna Pande, Shruti Prakash, Gaurav Bajpai, Praneet Bhatt and Hemant Pandey. Anand Pandit and Rakesh Juneja have produced the film, while Anand Pandit Motion Pictures will handle its worldwide release. Go to Source
