Vijay Varma on negativity on social media post break-up with Tamannaah

Vijay Varma opens up on stepping away from social media amidst negativity post his break-up with Tamannaah Bhatia: 'Jo gaali de raha hai...'

Vijay Varma and Tamannaah Bhatia were loved as a couple and fans were truly shocked, disappointed as they parted ways. While neither of them have publicly addressed their break-up or spoken about the reason, they remain cordial with each other. While they chose dignified silence, there was negativity on social media and Vijay recently opened up about dealing with it. He shared that he consciously stepped back after noticing that conversations about him were no longer focused on his work. This break, he said, allowed him to reconnect with loved ones he hadn’t spent enough time with in recent years.Reflecting on how public discourse has changed when he was indirectly asked about dealing with the negativity on social media, post his break-up, Vijay said during a chat with News18, “When we were growing up, saying something bad about someone on a public platform was frowned upon and not appreciated. Those who badmouthed were considered to be wrong. Abhi sab kuch ulta ho gaya hai. Jo gaali de raha hai, usko koi kuch nahi bol raha hai (Now everything is upside down. No one is saying anything to the person who is abusing). The one who’s being subjected to these abuses will, in fact, have more people badmouthing rather than supporting them.” He also admitted that he sometimes struggles to keep up with the changing dynamics of online culture. “There has been an entire shift in the culture. The way people communicate and write comments is a little too excessive, direct and personal. Sometimes, there’s too much fabrication and too many lies [written about you],” he added.Vijay chose to shift his focus back to what truly matters. “That also gave me a chance to reconnect with my family. I recently moved into a bigger house. I make sure that my family visits me more often,” he said, adding that he has also begun prioritising time with friends. The couple, who dated for nearly two years, reportedly ended their relationship in March 2025. Later, Tamannaah spoke about the kind of partner she aspires to be in the future. “I am trying to work on becoming a great life partner. So that’s the quest at the moment. I want to be that life partner that someone feels like they have done some good karma in their past life. That’s why I have come into their life. Whoever the lucky person is, I am working for it. The package shall arrive soon,” she said in an interview with NDTV.On work front, Vijay will be seen next in ‘Matka King’.
