The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) has reportedly sent legal notices to people from the entertainment and sports industries over their alleged association with the proposed TG20 League.Among those named are actor Vijay Deverakonda, actor Venkatesh, and cricketers Mohammed Siraj, Tilak Varma and Ambati Rayudu.According to reports, the notices relate to concerns raised by the association regarding the league’s status and its promotional activities.

Association raises questions over approval

As reported by ANI, the Telangana Cricket Association has questioned the legitimacy of the proposed competition. The association has alleged that the tournament does not possess approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).The TCA has also reportedly raised objections regarding the manner in which the league is being promoted. It has claimed that the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is engaging with corporate groups without obtaining the required authorisation from the national governing body.

Concerns over celebrity endorsements

The association has reportedly argued that promoting a cricket competition without official approval could constitute a violation under relevant regulations. In addition to concerns about the tournament itself the TCA has also highlighted the role played by public figures associated with the league. Association says that endorsements from celebrities can influence public perception and create legitimacy in the eyes of fans and followers.
