The Chembukkavu Sub‑Registrar Office official arrived at the home to oversee the registration keeping the event low-key and personal.
Family participation and wedding rituals
The formalities were completed in the presence of witnesses chosen from both families. Reportedly Vedan’s brother Hari, his sister-in-law, his second brother Naveen and activist Shyamkumar signed the wedding documents. Relatives of the bride reached the Mullankunnathukavu home around 4 p.m.The couple maintained their original plan of keeping the rituals restricted to close family and tightly knit circles. The reveal occurred at the Happiness Fest held in Kannur as part of Local Self-Government Day celebrations. After Govindan’s announcement, Vedan addressed the crowd, saying, “Just as he said, on the 24th I am going for a registered marriage.
