Comedian Kunal Kamra has lashed out at YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, accusing him of “milking” the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent and ignoring the fallout faced by the comedy community. The comment sparked massive backlash, leading to FIRs across states, court summons for multiple creators including Kamra, and the eventual removal of episodes from YouTube.

The comment sparked massive backlash, leading to FIRs across states, court summons for multiple creators including Kamra, and the eventual removal of episodes from YouTube.

Ranveer Allahbadia’s note sparks backlash

Taking to X, Allahbadia reflected on the controversy, stating that it took him “10 years to build the brands” but “one incident changed everything.” Referencing a doha by Sant Kabir, he wrote, “धीरे-धीरे रे मना, धीरे सब कुछ होय, माली सींचे सौ घड़ा, ऋतु आए फल होय… A simple reminder that growth takes time, and so does rebuilding.”However, his post did not go down well with Kamra, who responded sharply, pointing out what he believed Allahbadia failed to acknowledge.

‘30+ artists were summoned’: Kamra Kamra

Kamra highlighted the wider impact of the controversy, stating that over 30 artists, including himself, were summoned by authorities due to their association with the show. He added that the ripple effects were severe: shows were cancelled, venues backed out, and comedians faced judgement across the board. According to Kamra, the consequences of Allahbadia’s remark continue to affect the stand-up circuit.“The pathetic shadow of Ranveer’s stupidity still continues to make lives of funny comedians difficult. You didn’t even care to understand that side,” Kamra said.

‘Stop pretending to be the nice guy’

The comedian further accused Allahbadia of ignoring this reality and called out what he described as a carefully curated public image.Urging him to take accountability, Kamra wrote, “Stop pretending to be the nice guy you’re not. Take your cheque’s, lower your gaze & be very ashamed. You’re a contraceptive for creativity, stop milking this & go back to what you do best which is being a hurdle for upward social change while FraudCasting & clout chasing…”

No response yet from Allahbadia

As of now, Allahbadia has not publicly responded to Kamra’s remarks. The controversy, which erupted in February 2025, had already led to multiple legal and professional setbacks for those associated with the show. Allahbadia had earlier issued an apology, admitting that comedy “wasn’t his strength.” But Kamra’s latest comments indicate that, for many in the industry, the fallout is far from over. Go to Source
