The global anticipation around ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ continues to grow, and industry chatter now suggests that several major film trailers will be attached to its release. Reports indicate that early glimpses of Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’, Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and Steven Spielberg’s awaited UFO project are expected to screen alongside James Cameron’s magnum opus. Interestingly reports also say that Indian cinema may also receive a major spotlight moment.
Will Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s ‘Varanasi’ introduction video be part of ‘Avatar’ release?
According to MJ Cartel Twitter page reports, the trailer of Mahesh Babu–SS Rajamouli’s action-adventure film ‘Varanasi’ could be attached to the theatrical release of Avatar: Fire and Ash. While excitement among fans is soaring, the reports remain unconfirmed at this point. Neither the film’s team nor the makers of Avatar have issued an official announcement yet. The first glimpse of the film, released earlier in November, introduced Mahesh Babu as Rudhra who is seen as an explorer in a time-travel, world-saving mission. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, in pivotal roles.
Title controversy and likely renaming
Even as excitement builds, ‘Varanasi’ has found itself facing a title dispute. Producer Subba Reddy has reportedly filed a complaint claiming that he registered the title Varanasi two years ago, prompting intervention from the Telugu Film Chamber. While initial reports from OTT Play suggested that Rajamouli’s team might negotiate for full rights, it is now believed that no such talks occurred. Instead, the makers are likely to tweak the title for the Telugu version to ‘Rajamouli’s Varanasi’ to retain identity while avoiding legal complications. Since the original title has already been widely promoted nationwide, the team reportedly does not want to risk confusion by opting for a completely new name.
