Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni have been the ‘IT couple’ of the South industry for many years. From college sweethearts to a married couple, they have come a long way since their early years. Over the years, the two have given fans and netizens alike rare glimpses into their relationship. In one of her older interviews, Koindela ended up sharing a few rare details about their early years in the relationship. The businesswoman ended up revealing the kinds of trials and tribulations that she put the ‘Peddi’ actor through in order to prove his love for her.

While in conversation with Curly Tales back in August 2025, Koindela opened up about how she once made Ram Charan ‘prove’ his love for her. She had shared that at the time when they were still dating, she had planned a test for the ‘Peddi’ actor.’ To ensure that he truly loved her, she revealed last year that she had asked him to take her on an ice cream date in the middle of the city.She revealed that she directly asked Ram Charan, “’If you really love me, I want you to take me to the Famous Ice Cream,’ and Famous Ice Cream is in the middle of a market at that time, and he was a star by then. Everyone recognised him. So he said, ‘Okay,’ we went there, and we ordered ice cream on a date. We had people banging on our doors after that. It was the true test of his love, and he passed with flying colours.”During the interview, she also provided insight into how the two of them were first friends and later connected after feelings blossomed between them during their college years. “No, we didn’t have sparks. It’s not so filmy; it’s not like Magadheera, where we touched and felt the spark. We lived in reality,” she further quipped.Over the years, the two have proven to be one of the most beloved couples in the South industry.

The two also recently celebrated their 14th anniversary together and even shared glimpses of the special occasion online. The couple, who share twins, also posted about their children for the first time since their birth. Posting a photo of Koindela’s arm, along with their babies’ arms, the couple shared the post on June 14 along with the caption, “Heart is full (infinity sign emoji).” The two welcomed their babies, Shivram and Anveera Devi, earlier this year in January. They also have another elder daughter, Klin Kaara, who was born in 2023.

The two had known each other since childhood and had maintained a good friendship since their college years. However, it was much later, when the ‘RRR’ actor was filming ‘Magadheera,’ that he realised his feelings for her, and the two of them started dating. After years of dating, the couple got engaged in 2011 and tied the knot later on in 2012. The two have been going strong ever since and have actively supported each other through their endeavours.Ram Charan recently appeared in the hit film ‘Peddi’ and is already slated to appear in his next film, ‘The India House,’ for which he also served as a producer.
