According to India.com, Kapil was in a relationship with Romi Dev in the 1980s. However, they parted ways due to some issues known to them. Later, the cricketer met actress Sarika through Manoj Kumar’s wife. As per the report, though it was a casual meeting, the duo was impressed by each other. And soon, they started dating.As per the Bollywoodshaadis report, the cricketer and the actress started as friends first, and after developing feelings for each other, they began dating. Even the friends of the couple knew about what was brewing between them and were sure that the duo will get married soon. Reportedly, the actress also visited Punjab to meet the cricketer’s parents.

Why didn’t Sarika and Kapil Dev get married?

However, as per the report, Kapil stepped back from the relationship. None of them addressed what exactly went wrong. The Indian cricketer patched up with his ex-girlfriend Romi Bhatia. The report stated that Sarika was a rebound for him. The Indian cricket team captain went on to marry Romi Bhatia, who is his wife even today. Meanwhile, Sarika moved on and got married to superstar Kamal Haasan in the year 1988, two years after their first daughter, Shruti Haasan, was born. The duo share daughters, Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan. However, the couple filed for a divorce in 2002, and it was granted in the year 2004.
