Salman Khan to commence director Vamshi Paidipally's shoot April 18, amid buzz about 'Maatrubhumi' delay

Bollywood star Salman Khan may be awaiting the release of his war drama ‘Maatrubhumi’, but it seems that the actor is ready to move on to his next big venture.

Salman Khan to commence shoot for next on April 18

Salman is reportedly set to commence work on his next film, as early as next weekend. As per the latest reports Khan, who announced the untitled action drama backed by producer Dil Raju and directed by Vamshi Paidipally just last week, is now set to begin work on the project on April 18 in Mumbai, according to Variety India.Currently titled ‘SVC63’, the film will reportedly go on floors next Saturday with the first shooting schedule expected to begin at the SRPF Ground in Goregaon. Salman is expected to begin with a high-octane action sequence. The report adds that a large-scale set replicating a dense urban environment has been constructed at the studios, well ahead of the shoot. The production team has reportedly planned an extensive three-month shoot across Mumbai and multiple locations nationwide, with principal photography targeted for completion by August–September 2026.

Salman Khan’s next film’s cast and release date

While an official release date has yet to be confirmed, the makers are said to be eyeing an Eid 2027 theatrical release.Salman’s next is expected to be a pan-India film featuring an ensemble cast led by Nayanthara. The actress made her Hindi debut in the Bollywood blockbuster ‘Jawan’, starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Salman, on the other hand, made his Telugu cinema debut with a cameo in the 2022 political action thriller ‘Godfather’, starring alongside Chiranjeevi. Directed by Paidipally, the film will also star actors Anil Kapoor and Arvind Swamy in key roles.

‘Maatrubhumi’ release date

Notably, the film will go into production, well ahead of the release of the upcoming war drama ‘Maatrubhumi’, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film, initially slated for an April 17 release, is rumoured to be eyeing a later release date. Go to Source
