‘The Conjuring: Last rites’ inches towards Rs 80 crore in India

'The Conjuring: Last rites' box office collection day 13: The horror franchise movie inches towards Rs 80 crore in India, sees drop on second Wednesday

‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ released in theatres along with ‘Baaghi 4’ and ‘The Bengal Files’ and this hollywood horror franchise film absolutely took over the othe two releases from day 1 itself. The film was expected to do well in India just like its earlier installments have. While it had an opening of Rs 17 crore on day 1, it slowly began to see a drop from the first Monday onwards. By the beginning of the second week, the film further began to see a downfall. The film made around Rs 67 crore in its week one. On second Monday, it dropped to just Rs 1 crore. Tuesday was slightly better and it could be due to the discounted ticket rates in some cinemas on that day. It made Rs 1.3 crore on Tuesday and now on third Wednesday, it has dropped even more and just made Rs 82 lakh. The total collection of the movie now stands at Rs 78.47 crore. It may end up its run at the box office in India at the Rs 80 crore mark. This Friday sees the release of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Jolly LLB 3’ and if there’s positive word of mouth, the film may pick up and give major competition to ‘The Bengal Files’, ‘Baaghi 4’ and ‘The Conjuring’. In any case, all these three movies have now begun to lose steam and it’s a desperate need of the hour for a good film to take over the box office again and show some numbers. Day wise collection of the film: Day 1 [1st Friday] ₹ 17.5 Cr [En: 10 Cr ; Hi: 6.35; Ta: 0.75; Te: 0.4] -Day 2 [1st Saturday] ₹ 17.5 Cr [En: 10.25 Cr ; Hi: 6.2; Ta: 0.8; Te: 0.25] Day 3 [1st Sunday] ₹ 15.5 Cr [En: 8.3 Cr ; Hi: 6.4; Ta: 0.6; Te: 0.2] Day 4 [1st Monday] ₹ 5 Cr [En: 2.35 Cr ; Hi: 2.35; Ta: 0.2; Te: 0.1] Day 5 [1st Tuesday] ₹ 5.5 Cr [En: 2.4 Cr ; Hi: 2.9; Ta: 0.13; Te: 0.07] Day 6 [1st Wednesday] ₹ 3.25 Cr [En: 1.4 Cr ; Hi: 1.65; Ta: 0.13; Te: 0.07] Day 7 [1st Thursday] ₹ 2.75 Cr [En: 1.2 Cr ; Hi: 1.35; Ta: 0.13; Te: 0.07] Week 1 Collection ₹ 67 Cr [En: 35.9 Cr ; Hi: 27.2; Ta: 2.74; Te: 1.16] Day 8 [2nd Friday] ₹ 2 Cr [En: 1.1 Cr ; Hi: 0.8; Ta: 0.07; Te: 0.03] Day 9 [2nd Saturday] ₹ 3.15 Cr [En: 1.65 Cr ; Hi: 1.35; Ta: 0.13; Te: 0.02]Day 10 [2nd Sunday] ₹ 3.2 Cr [En: 1.5 Cr ; Hi: 1.5; Ta: 0.18; Te: 0.02] Day 11 [2nd Monday] ₹ 1 Cr [En: 0.45 Cr ; Hi: 0.5; Ta: 0.04; Te: 0.01] Day 12 [2nd Tuesday] ₹ 1.3 Cr [En: 0.51 Cr ; Hi: 0.79] Day 13 [2nd Wednesday] ₹ 0.82 Cr * early estimates Total ₹ 78.47 Cr
