The Conjuring: Last Rites -All you need to know

‘The Conjuring: Last Rites': All about the real story, release date, cast and more

The iconic paranormal franchise is set to haunt the towns at dawn with the brand-new film ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites,’ as the audience gears up for the chills down their spine. Marking the end of the series, the film will bid adieu to the fan-favourite Ed and Lorraine Warren’s investigation.

About ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ – Plot and release date

Focusing on Warren’s last significant case, the film would chronicle the story of a family that was tormented by a demon for over a decade – the Smurl haunting. “There’s something in the attic. Ed, there’s an evil here. Something I’ve felt before,” Lorraine said to Ed and the family in the trailer, before adding, “This thing in your house is a demon. It’s the first one that we’ve ever encountered.” Setting the last hurrah, the film will be released on September 5, 2025, in India.

A glimpse at the Smurl Haunting

From 1974 to 1989, the Smurl family encountered a demonic infestation at their residence, where they experienced loud noises, foul smells, and even violent attacks, such as their dog being thrown at the wall. In 1986, the Warrens investigated the case and described the entity as a powerful force. There were chilling spots, dark shadows roaming around the house, and a message that appeared on the mirror, which asked them to leave the premises. The dark chapter has extensive files and a case that was under investigation for months.

The cast of ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’

Directed by Michael Chaves, the cast includes Ed Warren as Patrick Wilson, Lorraine Warren as Vera Farmiga, Mia Tomlinson as Judy Warren, Ben Hardy as Tony Spera, along with other actors such as Steve Coulter, Elliot Cowan, Rebecca Calder, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, Shannon Kook, and John Brotherton, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
