The Conjuring becomes biggest Hollywood opening of 2025

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga's The Conjuring: Last Rites beating Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning to become the biggest Hollywood opening in India for 2025

The Conjuring: Last Rites achieves a major feat. The film surpasses Mission Impossible in India’s box office opening for 2025. It earns Rs 18 crore on day one, exceeding expectations. The Conjuring outperforms other big Hollywood releases this year. These include Jurassic World: Rebirth and Brad Pitt’s F1. The film also beats new Indian releases.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga who play the role of Ed and Lorraine Warren in director Micheal Chaves’s The Conjuring: Last Rites have done the unthinkable at the India’s box office . The film has gone ahead and taken the biggest Hollywood opening for 2025 in the country beating the much hyped Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning led by Tom Cruise. The last installment of horror series Conjuring minted Rs 18 crore on day 1 as per Sacnilk, going past the last instalment of the Mission Impossible series which had collected Rs 16.5 crore from its day 1. It would be interesting to note that while Ethan Hunt’s swan song was released on Saturday and its collection peaked on Sunday with Rs 17 crore collection, while The Conjuring has released on Friday and going by the film it expected to cross Rs 50 crore over the weekend. By edging past Mission: Impossible, The Conjuring has reaffirmed Hollywood’s diverse box office draw in India, where action spectacles typically dominate. It has also outperformed the opening benchmarks set by other major Hollywood titles in 2025 like Scarlett Johansson’s Jurassic World: Rebirth and Brad Pitt’s F1 both enjoyed phenomenal runs at the Indian box office, crossing the coveted Rs 100 crore mark. While Jurassic World was the makers attempt to reboot the series with the biggest action female star Scarlett Johansson, it tapped into nostalgia while Brad Pitt’s F1 played on adrenaline rush and star power. The Conjuring has already taken the biggest opening this Friday beating other indian titles like Tiger Shroff’s Baahi 4, Sivakarthikeyan’s Madharaasi, Vivek Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files and Ansuhka Shetty’s Ghaati.
