Thamma becomes Ayushmann’s 5th Rs 100 crore grosser

Ayushmann Khurrana hits fifth century with ‘Thamma’

Ayushmann Khurrana adds another feather to his cap with ‘Thamma’, marking his fifth film to cross the ₹100 crore mark after ‘Dream Girl 2’. This Diwali release has already garnered ₹101.10 crore, and with a lull in major film releases until November, experts speculate ‘Thamma’ could surpass ₹115-₹125 crore, enhancing Khurrana’s reputation as a leading figure in the cinematic landscape.

Riding high on the success of Dream Girl 2 , actor- singer Ayushmann Khurrana has now added another Rs 100 crore film to his kitty. This would be his second back to back Rs 100 crore grosser.Thamma released on the occasion of Diwali opened to a massive start of Rs 24 crore, on day 2 the collection dipped a little to Rs 18.6 crore .On day 3 – the numbers fell to Rs 13 crore with day 4 clocking on only Rs 10 crore. This is the usual trend for Diwali releases. They open big but then witness drops as people are busy with festivities and spending time with family and friends. But on day 5 which was a Saturday the collections jumped to Rs 13.1 crore and on day 6 ( Sunday) the numbers stayed steady with Rs 13 crore collection. On Monday the film witnessed a massive 65 % drop to collect Rs 4.3 crore but on Tuesday the collection spiked as it earned Rs 5.50 crore as per Sacnilk. And with that the film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark, the total collection of the film now stands at Rs 101.10 crore. Thamma now marks Ayushmann 5th entry into the Rs 100 crore club, his earlier centuries are Dream Girl 2 ( Rs 104.90 ) , Bala ( Rs 116.91 ) , Dream Girl 9 Rs 142. 26 crore) and Badhai Ho ( Rs 137.61 crore) . The journey for the film is far from over as no major release besides Baahubali- The Epic which is technically a re-release is hitting the theaters till the first week of November. Till then Thamma would be able to climb to at least Rs 115 crore to Rs 125 crore mark. Ayushmann has an exciting lineup ahead starting with Sooraj Barjatya’s next with Sharvari, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, co-starring Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan, and Wamiqa Gabbi and a joint collaboration with Karan Johar and Guneet Monga. Thamma is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and also features Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
