Sydney Sweeney debuts dramatic blonde bob

Sydney Sweeney debuts dramatic blonde bob at the screening of her new film, ‘Christy'

Sydney Sweeney is turning heads once again, this time not just for her powerful performance but for a stunning new look. The ‘Euphoria’ star surprised fans at the AFI Fest screening of her new film ‘Christy’ in Los Angeles on Saturday, debuting a bold bleach-blonde bob that completely transformed her appearance. Known for her long golden locks, Sweeney’s latest hairstyle marks one of her most dramatic makeovers yet, and it perfectly complements her evolving Hollywood persona.

Sydney’s striking red-carpet transformation

Sydney Sweeney just revealed a major hair transformation. The 28-year-old actress stunned fans at the AFI Fest screening of her new movie, ‘Christy’, in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 25. She chopped off her signature long hair for a dramatic new look. The ‘Euphoria’ star debuted a chic, chin length bleach blonde bob with soft waves. This new style is a significant change from the darker, dirty blonde hue she had just weeks ago. She was seen with the previous color earlier this month at the ‘Christy’ premiere at the London BFI Film Festival.

Sydney Sweeney’s Fierce Fight for ‘Christy’; A Role That Broke Her Limits

The week-long hair transformation

This stunning new look was not an overnight decision. It was the result of a “weeklong transformation,” according to her hairstylist, Glen Coco Oropeza. Oropeza shared an Instagram video of the process. The clip showed Oropeza methodically snipping Sweeney’s hair to chin length before the color change. Her hair colorist, Jacob Schwartz, also posted about the new style. He described the striking shade as a “bleached suede blonde”. Schwartz told Vogue that the actress was “looking for a change”. He said she “wanted to have a big hair moment for the red carpet to support her new movie, ‘Christy'”. He added, “It felt like the perfect time to do something bold”.

Her unrecognizable look for the ‘Christy’ role

This new red carpet style is just the latest in a series of transformations for Sweeney. She looked almost unrecognizable while portraying pro boxer Christy Martin in the new biopic. For the David Michôd directed film, the actress completely altered her appearance to embody the real life fighter. She famously wore a shaggy brunette mullet and brown contact lenses to get into character. Her dedicated performance is already earning her significant Oscar buzz. Many critics are praising her portrayal of the trailblazing female boxer.

Sydney Sweeney on her physical transformation

Apart from the dramatic hair and contacts, Sweeney also underwent an intense physical transformation for the role. She pushed her body to its limits, gaining 30 pounds of muscle to accurately portray Martin’s athletic physique. This major weight gain meant her usual clothes no longer fit. “I didn’t fit in any of my clothes,” she told W magazine. “I’m usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27”. She also noted other changes to her body. The movie is scheduled to be released theatrically on November 7, 2025. Go to Source
