‘Sussanne did not take Rs 400 crore alimony from Hrithik,’ Farah rubbishes rumours

'Sussanne Khan did not take Rs 400 crore alimony from Hrithik Roshan during divorce,' Farah Khan Ali rubbishes rumours: 'She is not a gold-digger'

Hrithik Roshan got married to Sussanne Khan in December 2000. It was the same year, his debut film released and he became a superstar. The couple got divorced in 2014. While till date, several reports suggest that Sussanne took an alimony of Rs 400 crore. In a recent interview, Sussanne’s sister, jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali has steered clear on their divorce and rubbished these reports. She clearly stated that Sussanne took no money and conducted herself in the most graceful manner all through, which is why she continues to share a great rapport with her ex-husband Hrithik. At the same time, Farah herself was going through a separation with DJ Aqeel. Recalling the time, she said in an interview with Vickey Lalwani, “In 2012, my issues with Aqeel started. I wanted to tell my parents but in 2012, Sussanne was having issues with Hrithik and she beat me to tell my parents. So, I couldn’t join the bandwagon and say, “me too.” So, I decided to be quiet and not say anything because there was too much drama with Sussanne, Hrithik and the whole world at that point. So, I let the whole Sussanne-Hrithik thing to pass and then I told my parents in 2016. They got divorced in 2014 I think. In 2016, I told my parents. My mum was very cool, she said, ‘Whatever makes you happy.’ But they both said that Aqeel’s a nice guy but you are incompatible. My father was unhappy because he was a nice guy.” When asked about how Sanjay and Zareen Khan reacted to Hrithik, Sussanne’s divorce, she said, “Hungama hua’. Everyone was in shock. There was a lot of hue and cry. There was a lot of opinions which people had about their personal life but I think they both handled it all beautifully. It was amicable. One thing I want to say on record is that there was never Rs 400 crore alimony and I feel sick at the bottom of my heart when I see people online saying that Rs 400 crore was paid and Sussanne got richer. I mean that is such a lie. My dearest sister did not take anything. We come from a family and a mother who taught us that materialistic things are not important, relationships are more important. So, my sister did not take anything. That’s why today, the relationship she has with her ex-husband Hrithik and her ex in-laws, Pinkie and Rakesh Roshan is amazing. They love her. I think she conducted herself in a very sophisticated manner. She is not a gold-digger. She is very elegant. She comes from a khandani family. She is elegant and Hrithik also is a wonderful man. It didn’t work out for them but you don’t need to blow up your marriage for the sake of press. There was no alimony in this. It’s incorrect and completely bad.” She added further, “I told her, why don’t you deny all this. She said, ‘I don’t care what people think of me Farah’. I think we are all like that. I do whatever I want to do. Unless you bring some value into my life, what I do shouldn’t matter to you and what you think of me, shouldn’t matter to me.” Farah was further asked if Hrithik was really willing to marry Sussanne at that time because he was a superstar. She said, “They were madly in love. They wanted to get married. I think his parents wanted him to wait a little before getting married because he was a superstar that time. But he was very committed to the wedding and he wanted to get married at that point.” Today, years after the divorce, Sussanne is now in a relationship with Arslan Goni while Hrithik Roshan is in a relationship with Saba Azad. “It’s important to be happy in life if you want to be the best version of yourself. Be with people who make you happy. And Arslan is a wonderful man, he keeps her very happy. They found each other, compatibility with each other, they have similar interests. It’s nice to see the caring they have for each other. I’m happy for her. I’m happy for Hrithik and Saba also.” Go to Source
