Sunny Deol and Nikhil Bhat’s actioner titled ‘Parshuram’; replaces tentative title ‘Lakhan’ - Reports

Sunny Deol and Kill director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s action film shifts from Lakhan to Parshuram, better suiting its epic scale. Shooting starts October; official announcement soon. Deol’s slate: Gabru, Lahore 1947 (Aug 2026, Aamir Khan prod.), and Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.

The heavy-duty action duo of Sunny Deol and director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, the mastermind behind the brutal actioner ‘Kill’ has finally locked a title for their upcoming collaboration. Moving away from the tentative title Lakhan, the makers have reportedly settled on the more mythologically charged and powerful title, ‘Parshuram’. Set to be a large-scale action spectacle, the film is currently in pre-production and is expected to begin filming in October 2026.

Sunny Deol film drops ‘Lakhan’ title

According to Pinkvilla, the makers decided to move away from ‘Lakhan’ and lock a new title instead. The team was waiting to secure the right title and finally found it. Both ‘Lakhan’ and ‘Parshuram’ are powerful in their own way, but the makers collectively decided to go ahead with Parshuram.

Sunny Deol’s ‘Parshuram’ title revealed

The updated title reportedly aligns more closely with the movie’s vibe, grandeur, and the epic persona Sunny Deol embodies. Titled ‘Parshuram’, it’s poised to strengthen anticipation for its widespread appeal. Production kicks off in October, with an official reveal of the Sunny Deol-Nikhil Bhat powerhouse pairing coming soon.

Sunny Deol’s upcoming movies lineup

On the professional front, Sunny Deol has a packed slate ahead with ‘Gabru’ and ‘Lahore 1947’, the latter is eyeing an August 13, 2026 release. The ensemble powerhouse includes Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Mithun Chakraborty, Ali Fazal, and Karan Deol, backed by Aamir Khan’s production, amid buzz of a possible title shift. Following that, he will also appear in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’. Go to Source
