Shah Rukh Khan and his history with on set injuries

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, gearing up for his 60th birthday, has a well-documented history of on-set injuries. From ‘Darr’ to his latest film ‘King,’ SRK has faced numerous physical challenges, including fractured ribs, broken ankles, and knee and shoulder surgeries. His resilience in continuing work despite pain highlights his dedication, with fans hoping for an injury-free year ahead.

hah Rukh Khan turns 60 this year and as a gift to his fans he and Siddharth Anand released the title announcement video of their latest film King which showcased him in a new action avatar. Now whenever there is action and there is SRK, there is an injury. In fact has had a long list of injuries while performing on the sets, he had also injured himself during the shoot of King which had led to him being flown to the USA for surgery and treatment. He spoke about it during the launch of Aryan Khan’s show and mentioned that it was a big surgery and would take a couple of months to get better. But it all started with Yash Chopra’s Darr where he was supposed to jump on Anupam Kher and he by mistake lifted his leg which left SRK with with three fractured ribs and a broken left ankle. Then in 1993 while shooting an action sequence, SRK injured his right toe, injury later resurfaced years later during My Name Is Khan. Then while shooting for Rakesh Roshan’s Koyla, he injured his knee and since the shoot was in Arunachal Pradesh he couldn’t come back immediately which would have led to losses to the makers. THe was seen dancing with a dupatta tied around his knee, not as a fashion choice but to ease the pain. While shooting for Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s Shakti with Karisma Kapoor he injured his back for which he had to undergo surgery in the UK. Later, in 2007, he injured his left shoulder during Dulha Mil Gaya, worsening it during My Name Is Khan the following year. Despite the pain, SRK continued working before finally getting treated.SRK’s left knee was injured during Koyla, that same knee was once again injured during the shoot of Anubhav Sinha’s Ra.One. He underwent a minimally invasive surgery to ease the pain. Then while shooting Chennai Express with Rohit Shetty he injured his shoulder which forced him to undergo a surgery in London.During Happy New Year, Shah Rukh suffered minor injuries while filming a dance sequence and was rushed to Nanavati Hospital and underwent surgery. . Persistent swelling and pain later led to an arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. In 2017 he underwent a minor follow up surgery on left shoulder and in 2023 while in LA he underwent a surgery thanks to an accident on the sets.As a birthday wish SRk should ask for no more injuries and surgeries for himself.
