Sooraj Pancholi REACTS to rumours of quitting Bollywood

Sooraj Pancholi REACTS to rumours of quitting Bollywood 2 years after being acquitted in Jiah Khan case: ‘Not at all true’

Sooraj Pancholi, son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, made his Bollywood debut in 2015 with the romantic action film ‘Hero’ alongside Athiya Shetty. He later appeared in ‘Satellite Shankar’, which hit cinemas in 2019. However, in recent days, the actor claimed that there were rumours and reports suggesting he had quit the film industry, and he has now finally reacted to these speculations.

Sooraj Pancholi clarifies his stance

Taking to his Instagram handle on Wednesday, Sooraj addressed the ongoing rumours through a brief statement. He wrote, “There are a few articles out there stating that I have quit films. Let me clarify, that is not at all true.” Along with his post, he turned off the comments section, possibly to avoid any further negativity or unnecessary discussions.

Jiah Khan’s case impacted Sooraj Pancholi’s life

Sooraj Pancholi’s personal and professional life took a major hit in 2013 after actress Jiah Khan was found dead at her home on June 3. As per ANI, based on a letter seized, which was said to have been written by the late actress, Mumbai Police had booked Sooraj under section 306 for abetment to suicide and arrested him.Pancholi was allegedly in a relationship with Jiah at the time. The case continued for several years, affecting his public image and film opportunities. However, after a long legal battle, Sooraj was acquitted from the case in 2023.

Sooraj Pancholi on the work front

Sooraj Pancholi was recently seen in ‘Kesari Veer’, which released in May this year. The historical drama told the story of unsung warriors who fought bravely to defend the Somnath temple from invading forces. The film also starred Suniel Shetty as the fearless Vegda Ji, debutant Akanksha Sharma as the strong and fiery Rajal, and Vivek Oberoi as the main antagonist, Zafar. Despite its impressive cast and patriotic theme, ‘Kesari Veer’ received a mixed response and could not make a lasting impact at the box office.
