‘You wait with faith,’ Ravi Dubey on the internet chatter around Ramayana

'You wait with faith,' Ravi Dubey who plays Lakshman reacts to the internet chatter and expectations around Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Ramayana'

Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ continues to be one of the most eagerly awaited films in Indian cinema. Ever since its announcement, the ambitious project has generated immense buzz for its star-studded cast, grand scale and visual effects. Amid the growing anticipation, actor Ravi Dubey, who essays the role of Lakshman, has shared his thoughts on the film and addressed the expectations surrounding it.The epic adaptation features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. For Ravi Dubey, who plays Lakshman, the project marks his first major role in a large-scale cinematic venture.Ravi said in an interview with ANI, “Bharat aur Ramyana ek dusre se alag nahi hain (India and Ramayana are not different from each other). They are one. As far as preparation is concerned, we will discuss that later. Yeh hamara ithihaas hai dharohar hai (This is our history, our heritage), and the more we can work on it, the more we will try to do justice to it within our abilities. It has been an amazing experience.”Earlier this year, the makers unveiled the first glimpse of the film, introducing audiences to Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Rama and offering a sneak peek into the world of the epic. The teaser showcased several battle sequences, glimpses of Ravana and the conflict against the asuras. While many viewers praised the scale and Ranbir’s transformation, some also raised concerns about the visual effects, sparking discussions online.Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for the next promotional asset, hoping to see further refinements in the VFX and a deeper look into the film’s world. When asked what audiences can expect from the project, Ravi offered a simple yet confident message: “We are making the film with faith. You wait with faith.”Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, ‘Ramayana’ is envisioned as a two-part cinematic saga and ranks among the most ambitious projects ever undertaken in Indian cinema. Based on the ancient Indian epic, the story follows Lord Rama’s journey to rescue Sita after her abduction by Lanka’s ruler Ravana, leading to an epic battle between good and evil.Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Ravi Dubey, the film also features Sunny Deol in the role of Hanuman.Adding to the scale of the project, the music is being composed by internationally acclaimed composer Hans Zimmer along with A. R. Rahman. The first installment of ‘Ramayana’ is scheduled for a theatrical release during Diwali 2026, while the second part is expected to arrive in cinemas during Diwali 2027.
