Sonakshi Sinha has once again voiced her support for environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, condemning his forced transfer to Safdarjung Hospital after he was removed from the protest site at Jantar Mantar by Delhi Police. Sharing an emotional video on social media, Sonakshi said the move “wasn’t right,” while applauding Wangchuk and thousands of supporters for conducting their protest peacefully. She also urged demonstrators to continue raising their voices through non-violence and expressed hope that meaningful dialogue would begin soon.

Hours after Sonam Wangchuk was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital, Sonakshi Sinha shared a heartfelt video expressing her concern over the incident. She said she was relieved that Wangchuk was safe and with his wife, but maintained that the manner in which he was removed from the protest site was inappropriate.”What happened with Sonam sir today, I am glad that he is okay. His wife is with him. He is still strong. He is alert. For the past few days, I have been seeing thousands of people with him. And whatever is happening with them, they are keeping their words in a calm, respectful and non-violent manner,” Sonakshi said. Despite being admitted to the hospital, Wangchuk has reportedly continued his hunger strike and declined medication and nutritional supplements.Sonakshi praised the students and supporters who have stood alongside Wangchuk throughout the protest, highlighting their discipline and commitment despite facing discomfort and uncertainty. She noted that the movement had remained peaceful and respectful throughout, saying that the resilience shown by the country’s youth reflected India’s true strength. According to the actor, peaceful demonstrations strengthen a movement’s message far more than violence or hostility.Sonakshi said, “We all know that the future of the country is in the hands of its youth. Seeing all of you, that seems even more true now. So much pain, so much disappointment, even after such a long wait, the way you have continued your struggle with peace and respect, hats off to you.”
Sonakshi urges supporters to maintain peace ahead of Parliament march
With supporters preparing for a march towards Parliament on July 20, Sonakshi appealed to demonstrators to continue their movement with peace, unity and respect. She said every citizen has the constitutional right to question those in power and expressed hope that constructive dialogue would begin soon.”On the 20th, those who are going to participate in the march, I have just one request to them. This is not the first time Sonakshi Sinha has spoken in support of Wangchuk. Earlier this week, she shared another emotional video urging authorities to engage with the protesters.
