Shoba reveals Vijay’s first question to his father, SA Chandrasekhar

Shoba reveals Vijay's first question to his father, SA Chandrasekhar, after swearing in as Tamil Nadu CM

Joseph Vijay’s assuming the post of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu was indeed an eventful milestone in his career, but it also meant a lot to his family. Not long after assuming the office in May 2026, it is said that Joseph Vijay had an extremely emotional encounter with his father, S. A. Chandrasekhar, who is known to be a renowned film-maker. According to his mother, Shoba Chandrasekhar, this was Joseph’s first encounter with his father after becoming the Chief Minister. Instead, it was a simple and heartfelt question that reflected the long journey they had travelled together as a family.

Vijay asked if he had fulfilled his father’s dream

Speaking about the memorable moment with Galatta, Shoba revealed that Vijay turned to his father and asked, “Have I finally fulfilled your dream?” According to her, S.A. Chandrasekhar responded with a smile and a nod. That brief exchange carried years of emotions and memories. Shoba explained that her husband had imagined a political future for Vijay long before politics became a reality. The family’s belief in Vijay’s leadership qualities reportedly grew stronger after the launch of his fan welfare activities years ago, eventually leading to his decision to enter active politics.

Family faced doubts and criticism during Vijay’s political journey

Shoba also recalled the challenges the family faced when Vijay announced his political ambitions. She said many people questioned whether a successful actor could make a smooth transition into politics. “We knew several people had entered politics with big dreams and struggled to succeed. But when we saw the support Vijay enjoyed across Tamil Nadu, we felt confident about his future,” she said. According to her, the criticism Vijay faced during his political entry reminded the family of the negative comments he encountered when he first entered the film industry. Yet, Vijay chose to remain calm and focused throughout both journeys.

From cinema superstar to Chief Minister

Reflecting on her son’s transformation, Shoba said Vijay had always been clear about his priorities. “For Vijay, it was always either acting or politics. He never wanted to do both at the same time,” she explained. After years of success in cinema, Vijay stepped away from films to concentrate fully on public life. His victory in the 2026 Assembly election marked the beginning of a new chapter, not only for him but also for his family. The emotional conversation with his father after taking office has now become one of the most talked-about moments from his remarkable journey from superstar to Chief Minister. Go to Source
