Over the years, the actress has celebrated the festival with full devotion, bringing her family together for pujas, rituals, and even iconic dances. She never forgets to share glimpses of these moments with her fans and followers, spreading festive cheer far and wide.But this year, things are different. A few days ago, Shilpa revealed that she will not be hosting Ganpati festivities at home. Instead, she decided to mark the occasion in another way, taking to Instagram to post a heartfelt video compilation of past celebrations with her family.

Shilpa Shetty shares emotional video of memories

On Instagram, Shilpa posted clips that captured her Ganesh Chaturthi traditions over the years — from Ganpati Bappa’s puja to her joyful dance moments. The video also featured her entire family, including her mother, sister Shamita Shetty, husband Raj Kundra, and children.She wrote in the caption, “Home feels incomplete without you this year, but the heart is full of your blessings♥️😇 गणपती बाप्पा मोरया, पुढच्या वर्षी लवकर या♥️🌺” (Ganpati Bappa Morya, return soon next year with blessings)

Why is Shilpa Shetty not celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi this year?

Shilpa had earlier shared an official statement on behalf of her family on Instagram. It revealed that the decision to step back from the festivities this year was due to a personal loss. The statement read, “Dear friends, With deep grief we regret to inform you, due to a bereavement in the family, this year we will not be holding our Ganpati celebrations.”

Kundra family observes mourning period for 13 days

In the same statement, the family explained that they would be observing a traditional mourning period. “We seek your understanding and prayers. With gratitude – The Kundra Family,” it concluded.Shilpa also mentioned that, as per tradition, the family would refrain from any religious festivities for 13 days. This gesture reflects the family’s respect for cultural customs even in difficult times.

Shilpa Shetty expresses devotion in her message

Even while announcing her absence from the celebrations, Shilpa’s spirit of devotion shone through her words. She ended her message with, “Ganpati bappa morya, pudchyavarshi lav kar ya”, a phrase traditionally used to bid farewell to Lord Ganesha while lovingly inviting him to return next year.

Shilpa on the work front

On the work front, Shilpa was last seen in ‘Sukhee’, directed by Sonal Joshi. Next, she will be appearing in ‘KD: The Devil’, a Kannada action drama directed by Prem. The film stars Dhruva Sarja in the lead role and also features Sanjay Dutt, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, Nora Fatehi, and Shilpa herself. Go to Source
