The most emotional part of the evening was the tribute delivered by Shanthanu, Bhagyaraj’s son, about the immense love that his father received after his death. Holding back tears, he said, “For those two days, people kept coming continuously to pay their respects to my father, without caring about the rain or the scorching sun. Only then did I truly realise how deeply people loved and respected him.” His heartfelt words drew loud applause and left many in the audience emotional. Veteran actor Sivakumar inaugurated the memorial by paying floral tributes to Bhagyaraj’s portrait, while filmmaker R. Sundarrajan shared several cherished memories from their decades-long friendship.

The memorial witnessed an emotional scene when Bhagyaraj’s wife, actress Poornima, became overwhelmed after seeing her husband’s portrait. She couldn’t help her feelings and began to cry in front of the assembly. Sivakumar immediately came forward to comfort her, but ultimately the emotionally charged atmosphere affected Sivakumar as well, who could be seen wiping tears from his eyes.
