Shankar Mahadevan buys luxurious car worth Rs 80.33 lakh, performs puja and celebrates with family

Singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan, known for his soulful voice and chart-topping songs, has added a luxurious new car to his collection. The musician, who has sung and composed in several languages and genres, recently bought a stylish MG M9. Although he did not post about it himself, many media pages shared a video of Mahadevan celebrating the special moment with his family.

In a video shared by celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani on Instagram, Shankar was seen posing beside his brand-new MG M9. As reported by The Free Press Journal, the car is priced at Rs 80.33 lakh. The clip captured a warm, family-centred moment as the singer performed a traditional welcome for his new car.As the vehicle rolled into his residence, a brass Tundi (Tori) instrument was played, firecrackers burst in celebration. The video also showed Shankar Mahadevan surrounded by his loved ones during the puja ceremony. The family stood together with smiles and laughter as they marked the arrival of the new car.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy completes three decades in music

Shankar Mahadevan is a part of the legendary trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who have given Indian cinema some of its most memorable songs. Reflecting on their 30-year journey, Shankar told Hindustan Times, “We have been there from the time they were using cassettes to CDs, then hard disk recording, and now streaming. We’ve seen it all.”

Shankar Mahadevan explained how they create film music

Speaking about their creative process, Shankar shared that the trio’s secret lies in designing every song to fit the story and emotions of a film. “We literally design music for each film. Whether it’s a sad song, a disco track, a romantic number, or an inspirational piece, there’s always a thread that weaves all the songs together. That’s what makes the music feel like it belongs to that film,” he explained.This thoughtful approach to composition has helped Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy create timeless tracks that continue to resonate with listeners even today.
