‘Shameful’: Sonu Sood reacts to Kangana calling Gen Z ‘Generation Gutter’

'Shameful': Sonu Sood reacts to Kangana Ranaut calling Gen Z 'Generation Gutter', says 'important to think carefully before you speak'

Kangana Ranaut has been in the news for her comments on Gen Z and their behaviour during the protests for NEET paper leak. Kangana had strongly criticised the abusive language used against PM Narendra Modi and his mother. She referred to the group as “Generation Gutter” and further wrote, “I call them Generation Gutter. Some of them have nothing to offer to the system. They are not good at studies. They are so ugly and corrupt that they can’t even be homemakers,” she wrote. She had further said, “Never in my life have I seen so much ugliness in one place. These reels from Gen Z protests are puke-inducing. The way they speak and the kind of language they are using… never in my life have I seen everything in each and every frame so jarring and so crass all at once,” she wrote. Now Sonu Sood has responded to the controversy surrounding Kangana’s remarks on Gen Z protesters. He said that young people play a crucial role in shaping the careers of public figures and deserve to be heard and respected. Speaking to the media, Sonu said he had not watched Kangana’s comments initially. However, he highlighted the importance of young audiences and their influence in the lives of actors and other professionals. When asked about Kangana’s statement, Sonu said, “I haven’t heard her statement. But I feel that these young people are the ones who make actors, and they are the ones who help you reach this position.”He further added, “As long as they stand by you, you will continue to thrive. If they are not with you, it becomes difficult. That’s why everyone should be taken along.” Talking about the significance of public support, Sonu said that every profession depends on people’s trust and connection. “Whatever your profession may be, whether you are an actor, a doctor, or anything else, your existence in this world has meaning only as long as people are connected with you.”When the reporter brought up Kangana’s comment in which she referred to Gen Z as “gutter,” Sonu expressed disappointment and called the remark inappropriate.”If she has said that, then I think it is very shameful. It should not have been said,” he remarked. He also opened up on the importance of being mindful while speaking publicly, adding, “There is a saying, ‘Tol mol ke bol’ (weigh your words before speaking). It is very important to think carefully before you speak because the public is another form of God.”Meanwhile, on July 29, Kangana again took to social media and shared a video defending her ‘gutter’ comment. She said, “Kya aap apni beti ko aisa sikhayenge? Discipline mein rehna ek choice nai hai. Agar aapko samaj mein rehna hai, sanvidhaan ke hisaab se chalna padega. Iska matlab aapki aazaadi wahan puri ho jaati hai Jahan se mere naak aur kaan shuru hote hai. You can stay in your room and do what you want. Bahar aake aap mere aaradhya ko gaali nai de sakte. Chaahe woh mere bhagwaan ho, mere maa baap chaahe mere neta ho. Pradhaan Mantri ji ko exam buddy kehte hai, koi unko dost manta hai, koi bhagwaan manta hai. Aap unki feelings hurt nai kar sakte hai.”
