Selena Gomez defends Hailey Bieber in cheeky deleted note; tells fans 'hopefully we can all stop'

Pop star Selena Gomez has put an end to the ongoing narrative between her and Hailey Bieber. Amidst nasty rumours, speculations and fan wars, Selena took to her handle to set the record straight in a now-deleted post that managed to raise eyebrows.

In her note, Gomez urged fans to ease off the criticism, writing: “Just leave the girl alone. She can say whatever she wants. Doesn’t affect my life whatsoever.”However, Gomez went on to add, “It’s just about relevance, not intelligence,” a statement which made jaws drop.

Selena’s note raises eyebrows

Although the post was removed shortly after being shared, screenshots and reactions quickly circulated online, sparking conversations about a diss in the note. “If you’re going to ask people to leave someone alone, then don’t start bitching about them in the same paragraph,” a fan commented.Another said, “Selena always hits the perfect balance between grace and shade she basically said, “I’m unbothered, but y’all need to grow up.””This is the “take the high road but still clap back with elegance” energy,” said another. The singer and actress ended her note saying, “Be kind. All brands inspire me. There is room for everyone. And hopefully we can all stop.”

Selena and Hailey’s beef

Selena’s post reportedly came in response to fans accusing Hailey of shading her Rare Beauty brand in a recent WSJ interview, where she discussed beauty industry inspirations. She also expressed her frustration with “being pitted against other people. I didn’t ask for that,” she said. The two had seemingly made peace and put up a united front back in 2022. However, despite efforts to bridge the gap, the two have often found themselves at loggerheads with each other.
