Salman Khan Films clarifies ‘Maatrubhumi’ reports

'Not yet submitted to CBFC': Salman Khan's banner issues strong statement around 'baseless and false' certification rumors on 'Maatrubhumi'

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s production banner Salman Khan Films (SKF) has released a statement regarding his upcoming war action drama film, ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’. The team responded to claims that the film ran into problems with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).Releasing the statement on their X (formerly Twitter) handle, the production house said the reports are completely false. It clarified that the film has not even been submitted to the CBFC for certification yet.

Salman Khan Films issues clarification

The statement read, “Any claims suggesting that Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has encountered issues with the CBFC or that its certification has been put on hold are false. The film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC for certification. Therefore, such reports are entirely baseless.” The production house further added, “We request that media outlets and individuals refrain from circulating unverified information. Any official updates regarding the film will be shared by Salman Khan Films through its official channels only.”

What did the reports say

For the unversed, in recent weeks, several reports claimed that the film had undergone changes and reshoots. Some reports also suggested that the CBFC had put the film’s certification on hold. However, the latest statement from Salman Khan Films has dismissed all these claims and made it clear that the certification process has not even started.

About ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’

Speaking about the film, ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’ is directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film stars Salman Khan with Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh as the female lead.

More about the film’s release

The film was earlier called ‘Battle of Galwan’ before getting renamed. It was originally planned to release in April this year, but got delayed. After being postponed, the film was suggested to arrive in theatres during the Independence Day weekend in August. However, the makers have yet to officially confirm the release date.
