Sadia on her non-negotiables: ‘Will NOT sell my soul for Rs 100 cr’

'Daadi Ki Shaadi' actress Sadia Khateeb on her non-negotiables: 'I will not sell my soul for Rs 100 crore'

Sadia Khateeb has worked in a thriller, a drama, and a romance across five years in the industry, and now, she is seen in her first comedy release, ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’, co-starring Kapil Sharma and Neetu Kapoor. In a recent conversation, she opened up about the non-negotiables she has held since day one, her relationship with ambition, and why ethics are not a limitation but a core part of who she is.

Sadia Khateeb will not do a movie in which she is objectified

Since her debut in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ‘Shikara’ in 2020, Sadia Khateeb has been guided by a single, unwavering rule. In an interview with Variety India, she revealed, “My non-negotiable since day one have been only one thing. That I don’t want to be in a film where I’m objectified.”She is clear-eyed about her ambitions too; fame, success, and financial reward are all things she wants; however, only on her own terms. She said, “I don’t want to be in any space where I don’t feel respected or where I feel like I’m being objectified. These are two non-negotiables. Since day one.”The actress said that her choices have always been driven by conviction rather than opportunity. “I am very clear. I will do films that have some sort of meaning and some sort of connection. I would never do a film I don’t like. It has to give me something,” she explained.

Sadia Khateeb says she will not sell her soul for Rs 100 crore

During the same conversation, Sadia was also asked what she would do if she were offered Rs 100 crore. Refreshingly unbothered by box office pressure, Sadia Khateeb offered a grounded take on what success actually means to her.The actress said, “There is no one that I have to go back and prove anything to, except myself. What will happen if I get Rs 100 crore right now? I’ll still eat the same food. I’ll still be with the same people. Yes, I desperately want Rs 100 crore, but that won’t change the way I live my life.”She went on to add, “I will not sell my soul for that Rs 100 crore. I will work my hardest. I will put my best to make those crores. I will give my all in terms of effort. But I will not do anything which I’m not comfortable in, which I don’t accept, which I don’t resonate with.”For Khateeb, the boundaries she has set are not restrictions; they are a reflection of who she is. She said, “We all have our set of morals, which we sometimes call limits.”
