'Sab jaan gaye notebandi kyun hua,' Ravi Kishan slams people calling 'Dhurandhar 2' a propaganda film: 'Samaaj ka aaina hai'

‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ directed by Aditya Dhar, continues to make headlines as it garners praise from both audiences and critics. The film has been creating a storm at the box office and the internet is filled with fan theories, memes and conversations about the film. Many celebs also have showered praise on the Aditya Dhar directorial and actor-turned-politician has now spoken about it. The actor called cinema a mirror to society. He further claimed that the film sheds light on the real reason behind demonetisation.Ravi Kishan said in an interview with ANI, amidst it being called a propaganda film, “Dhurandhar film samaaj ka aaina hai. Parliament mein jab attack hua tab koi kuch nahi bola. Atiq Ahmed ke baare mein itne mukadme darj hain, ab sab log bayaan baazi kar rahe hain. Cinema samaaj ka aaina hai; jo samaaj mein hota hai, cinema ussi pe banta hai. Yeh lok tantra hai (The film Dhurandhar is a reflection of society. When the attack took place in Parliament, no one spoke out. So many cases have been filed against Atiq Ahmed, and now everyone is making statements. Cinema is a reflection of society; cinema is based on what happens in society. This is democracy).”He went on to add, “Notebandi ke baare mein ab sab jaan gaye ke kyu notebandi hua tha. Cinema industry se bhi meri ek request hai ke ab aise jagruk filmein banane ka samay aa gaya hai (Now everyone knows why demonetisation happened. I also have a request for the cinema industry; now is the time to make such awareness-raising films).”The film picks up from where its predecessor left off, diving deeper into the journey of Ranveer Singh’s character while also exploring his original identity, Jaskirat Singh Rangi, in greater detail.
