'Ikkis' screening turns emotional as Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza offer tributes to Dharmendra

A special screening of ‘Ikkis’ was held in Mumbai recently. The evening was filled with emotion and memories as it is the final film of the late and veteran actor Dharmendra. the film also marks the debut of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda. Many people from the film industry came to support him and also to pay their tributes to Dharmendra. One such couple was Riteish Deshmukh and wife and actress Genelia Deshmukh.

First review of ‘Ikkis’

Casting director Mukesh Chhabra shared his thoughts after watching the film. He wrote “Just watched Ikkis a film made purely from the heart. Gentle, honest storytelling that stays with you long after it ends.”Chhabra also spoke about Dharmendra with deep feeling and said “Dharmendra sir… what grace, what depth. If this is your last film it truly breaks the heart. You’ve left us with something deeply emotional and important. You will be missed sir.”Mukesh also praised the cast. He wrote, “And Jaideep Ahlawat hats off. I genuinely didn’t expect this and I’m glad to be surprised.”Welcoming the newcomers, he said, “A warm welcome to Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia both were beautiful on screen. Endearing eyes, lovely chemistry. Agastya’s innocence and sincerity truly shine.”Chhabra added, “Special mention to Vivan Shah and Sikandar Kher outstanding work. And above all Sriram Raghavan. The man. The master. Once again, sir… once again.”

‘Ikkis’ is expected to have a decent opening at the box office. The movie is directed by Sriram Raghavan and the script penned by Arijit Biswas, Pooja Ladha Surti along with the director himself. The film has actors Agastya Nanda, Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Shree Bishnoi among others.For the unversed, ‘Ikkis’ was earlier scheduled to hit the big screens on December 25. It was postponed to January 1 reportedly due to ‘Dhurandhar’ buzz. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh praised the postponement by sharing a Tweet that read, “The postponement of Hindi Medium and Chhaava worked to their advantage, with both eventually enjoying a clear run. Dinesh Vijan has done it for the third time… Ikkis, originally slated for release on 25 December 2025, will now arrive a week later, on 1 January 2026. Dhurandhar is creating havoc at the box office and shows no signs of slowing down. Plus, Avatar the Hollywood giant, will have an extensive release in India this Friday (19 December 2025).”
