Reeva breaks down in tears on stage

Reeva Rachh breaks down in tears on stage as 'Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate' crosses Rs 100 crore: Watch

The blockbuster wave of ‘Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate’ continues to sweep across theatres, both in India and overseas. On February 6, 2023, actress Reeva Rachh had posted a status on social media that read: “Raam Bharose — 1st Gujarati Movie to make 100 crore.” Two years later, that dream stands fulfilled. Powered by the blessings of Lord Krishna and the unwavering love of Gujarati audiences, Laalo has officially crossed the Rs 100-crore mark, confirmed by the makers on the last day.

Reeva Rachh’s big dream for regional cinema

During a grand promotional event in Mehsana, attended by thousands of fans, Reeva Rachh found herself at the center of an unexpectedly emotional moment. A close friend of hers took to the stage and said, “This girl once said that someday a Gujarati film would earn 100 crore. And today, her own film has fulfilled that dream.” That sentence was enough to make Reeva break down. Tears streamed uncontrollably as she tried to gather herself. Director Ankit Sakhiya stepped forward instantly and offered his handkerchief to help her wipe away her tears. With her voice shaking, Reeva opened up about the self-doubt she had experienced years ago ,wondering if people saw her as a “crazy girl” for dreaming so big. But her friend once told her, “This madness is exactly what is needed.”

More about ‘Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate’

Reeva shared that the film’s success is not just personal; it represents a collective victory of language, of Gujarati cinema and most importantly, of its audience. ‘Laalo’ revolves around a rickshaw driver who is struggling with past mistakes, addiction and financial hardship. The narrative reinforces a powerful message: a person is not bad, time can be. The theme connects well with the family audiences mostly.
