Raveena once slammed trolls for fat-shaming Aishwarya Rai

'Everyone's body type is different...': Raveena Tandon once slammed trolls for fat-shaming Aishwarya Rai after Aaradhya’s birth

Raveena Tandon has spoken out about body-shaming faced by actresses. She defended Aishwarya Rai after her daughter’s birth, recalling similar criticism she herself endured. Tandon highlighted media insensitivity and double standards. Richa Chadha also previously supported Rai against online trolls. The incidents underscore the pressures faced by women in the public eye.

Raveena Tandon once stood up for Aishwarya Rai after the actress faced harsh criticism for her post-pregnancy weight following the birth of her daughter Aaradhya. Later, in a candid chat, Raveena also reflected on how both she and Aishwarya were body-shamed at the time.

Raveena stands up for Aishwarya

Raveena had once tweeted, “Everyone’s body type is different, if she’s taking time is OK. Its her space, its her obligation to her child first. Instead of some portions of the media, who decide what and when Ash should do with herself and her baby? shallow and double standards, wonder if they’d do the same?”

Raveena recalls being fat-shamed herself

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with NDTV Goodtimes, Raveena addressed the issue once again and said, “There was a time when I had put on a lot of weight after I just delivered my son. And I remember, I started working after that and there was a press conference and that time they were fat-shaming me, they were fat-shaming Aishwarya Rai and I stood up for her at that time and I said she just had a baby.”Elaborating further, she added, “So at a press conference a journalist said, ‘Aray Raveena ji aap kitni moti ho gayi hain, aap kya mast cheez hua karti thi or ab aap reality show kar rahi hain (Raveena ji you have gained so much weight, you used to be a big thing back then and now you are doing these reality shows)’. I told him ‘dekhiye bhaisahab motapa toh ghat jayega lekin aapki surat kaise badal payegi (I told him that my fat will go away but how will you change your face)?”

Richa Chadha also supports Aishwarya

Earlier Richa Chadha had also supported the ‘Devdas’ actress after she became subject of the troll after her one of her Paris Fashion Week appearances. Speaking to Jist, Richa said, “Jalte hain log unse (People are jealous of her).” She then praised Aishwarya and said, “Sabse khoobsurat mahila hai woh Hindustan ke history ki aajtak ki or mujhe lagta hai unmein bahut discipline hai or woh kaafi graceful hai (She is the most beautiful woman in India’s history so far and I feel she is very disciplined and graceful). She doesn’t talk bad about anyone. I like her a lot. People can troll her all they want, she won’t be bothered by it.”
