Raveena and Kapil team up for Sharat’s next OTT drama

Raveena Tandon and Kapil Sharma team up for Sharat Katariya’s next OTT drama - Reports

First onscreen duo: Tandon-Sharma. Insider: “It’s very much in Sharat’s zone, with flawed but lovable characters navigating ordinary life. The emotional core is strong.” Mumbai look test March 1; pre-prod ends soon, principal shoot next.

Filmmaker Sharat Katariya is moving ahead with a new project featuring an unusual lead pairing. The top contenders for the lead roles in his upcoming slice-of-life drama are reportedly Raveena Tandon and Kapil Sharma. Production is already underway as part of an OTT direct-to-digital initiative.

Sharat Katariya’s style of firecting

Katariya is known for capturing the humor and heart in ordinary moments; his Katariya’s past hits include the critically praised ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ (2015) and ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made in India’ (2018).

Raveena Tandon and Kapil Sharma to team up

According to a report from Mid-Day, sources have shared some clues about the movie’s theme, even though they are keeping the specific plot secrets under wraps. The report describes it as a personal story centered on human connections and the simple goals people have in their daily lives. The filmmakers are aiming for a realistic, down-to-earth feel, choosing a more grounded style instead of the loud, expensive action movies that are popular right now.

Raveena Tandon and Kapil Sharma’s first on-screen collaboration

This collaboration brings Tandon and Sharma together on screen for the first time. The tabloid reported that the film aligns perfectly with Sharat’s signature style, focusing on relatable, imperfect characters dealing with the realities of daily life. Because the story relies so heavily on a deep emotional connection, the casting process was vital; the goal was to find actors who could bring genuine authenticity.Production’s already underway with a look test and official shoot that commenced from March 1, 2026, Sunday. The pre-production schedule will wrap up this month, launching main filming, all backed by a strict schedule to meet the OTT deadline.

Raveena Tandon’s 2026 lineup

Meanwhile, Tandon has many projects lined up for 2026, including a big role in the action-comedy ‘Welcome To The Jungle,’ releasing on June 26. She’s also PM Modi’s mom, Heeraben, in biopic ‘Maa Vande’. ‘Aranyak’ and ‘Karmma Calling’ on OTT gave her career a fresh boost.

Kapil Sharma’s next ventures

Meanwhile, Sharma looks forward to his family comedy ‘Dadi Ki Shaadi’ opposite Neetu Kapoor, targeting a Mother’s Day release in May 2026. His late 2025 big-screen outing ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ earned mixed reactions, but he still pulls solid digital viewership with his show, ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ Season 4. Go to Source
