Rashmika Mandanna breaks silence on Kannada ban

Rashmika Mandanna breaks silence on Kannada ban: Talks about public misconceptions; says, 'World doesn't know what happens inside'

Rashmika Mandanna took the opportunity during her promotional tour for her new Bollywood film to dispel the myths surrounding her status in Kannada cinema, assuring fans she’s not facing any bans. She shared her admiration for Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ and her efforts to reach out to its creators.

Rashmika Madanna is one of the biggest actresses in Indian cinema, who began her career in the Sandalwood industry. However, she is often discussed on social media as being banned from Kannada films. The actress recently spoke that much of what people assume about her is far from the truth.

Rashmika Mandanna on ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’

While promoting her upcoming Bollywood project, ‘Thamma’, in a conversation with Good News Kannada, Rashmika Mandanna was asked if she had watched Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ and whether she had reached out to the team after viewing it. She revealed, “See, the thing is… I didn’t see the film in the first 2–3 days since its release. I didn’t see it right then, but I recently watched it and even texted the team. They even replied with a ‘Thank you’ response too.”

Responding to speculations about her being banned

Her statement appeared to subtly respond to previous speculation that she had distanced herself from the Kannada industry and from ‘Kantara’, a film directed by Rishab Shetty, the very filmmaker who gave her a debut break in ‘Kirik Party’ back in 2016.Rashmika Mandanna further spoke about the gap between public perception and reality, that not everything can or should be shared online. “See, the world doesn’t know what is happening on the inside. Inside, god knows we can’t always put a camera on our personal lives. Also, we aren’t those people who share our messages online,” she said, expressing that there’s often more to the story than what’s visible. She also made it clear that professional criticism is welcome, but personal assumptions are misplaced. “What people say about a person’s life doesn’t matter. Now, what they say about our professional life, we’ll consider it and work on it,” she explained.

Clarifying the ban rumours

When directly asked if she has been banned by Kannada producers, Rashmika Mandanna dismissed the rumours, saying, “So far, I have not been banned. So, yeah…”Born and raised in Karnataka, Rashmika Mandanna began her journey in films through ‘Kirik Party’, which became a blockbuster hit and marked the start of her thriving career. She later expanded into Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema, delivering several box-office successes. She has been in the headlines for her engagement with long-term rumored boyfriend Vijay Deverakonda, after the ‘Kingdom’ actor’s team confirmed the news. She will be next seen on the big screen with the upcoming romance horror comedy film, ‘Thamma’, co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana. The film will release this Diwali. Go to Source
