Ranveer Singh NOT EXITED 'Pralay'; creative differences buzz called 'Completely baseless' - Report

Ranveer Singh dismisses exit rumors from Jai Mehta’s zombie thriller ‘Pralay’, set in post-apocalyptic Mumbai with AI visuals. Script locked, pre-production underway for August 2026 shoot on Rs 300cr budget. Backed by Hansal Mehta. Meanwhile, his Don 3 fallout with Farhan Akhtar lingers over script issues.

Ranveer Singh continues to be a part of ‘Pralay’, dismissing recent claims about his exit from the Jai Mehta-directed post-apocalyptic zombie thriller as “completely baseless.” According to reports, the actor has already started working on the project with Jai, and the film’s script has been finalised.

Ranveer Singh’s ‘Pralay’ enters pre-production

According to Variety India, Ranveer and Jai have been in continuous discussions and have firmly locked the script. The project has already moved into pre-production, with the entire team actively gearing up to create a never-before-witnessed gigantic spectacle out of Indian cinema. As it stands, ‘Pralay’ is on track to go on floors by August 2026.

Ranveer Singh’s ‘Pralay’ rumours sparked by viral post

Reports of Ranveer’s alleged exit from ‘Pralay’ surfaced after a viral post on X claimed, “Ranveer Singh’s post-apocalyptic zombie thriller #Pralay, slated to go on floors by mid-2026 under Jai Mehta, has reportedly hit a roadblock due to creative differences between the actor and director.”

Ranveer Singh’s ‘Pralay’ explores post-apocalyptic Mumbai

The film is set in a post-apocalyptic Mumbai and is said to employ AI-powered visuals to portray a deteriorating, ruined version of the city. Directed by Jai Mehta, son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta, the project marks his big-screen directorial debut. He has earlier co-directed ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ and ‘Lootere’, and is known for his realistic narrative style. Backed by producers Hansal Mehta and Sameer Nair’s Applause Entertainment, the film is shaping up to be one of the more distinctive Hindi projects currently in the works.

Ranveer Singh’s ‘Don 3’ exit controversy resurfaces

Notably, this update arrives at a time when Ranveer has also been grabbing attention for his exit from ‘Don 3’. The actor, who is currently basking in the success of his ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise, walked away from the project last year. Reports suggested that the split stemmed from script-related disagreements and delays. It was earlier claimed that Excel sought Rs 40 crore as compensation, citing pre-production investments, scheduling disruptions, and associated losses, while the production house asserted that initial groundwork had been completed with Ranveer’s approval.

Farhan Akhtar on Ranveer Singh’s ‘Don 3’ fallout

Recently, Farhan Akhtar addressed the fallout as well, telling Hollywood Reporter India, “What I have learnt is to expect the unexpected. Nothing can be taken for granted till you actually have it on film.” Go to Source
