Rani Mukerji shares that working on ‘Mardaani 3’ was emotionally demanding
In an interview with Mid-Day, Rani Mukerji shared that the actors also suffer the emotional struggles the girls face in the movie, as the story is inspired by true events. She said, “Emotionally, the trauma that the girls suffer in the film is also what we suffer indirectly, as we know that they are inspired by true events. To think of the missing girls and what their families go through is traumatizing.”
Rani Mukerji added that she had to “detach” herself from these emotions because, according to her, if she had gotten emotional, she would not have portrayed her character well. She said, “When I pick up subjects like Mardaani, I’m trying to shake people up and tell them, ‘Look, this is happening around us.'”

In the same conversation, talking about the movie, Rani Mukerji shared, “In a female actor’s life, a lot of hard work is involved.” The actress further expressed that she is a married woman who has had a baby. According to her, every month, year, and decade is different for women due to the hormonal changes.Sharing women are constantly battling these fights, she added, “Then we have to work on a role like Shivani, where you have to look a certain way; your body language and manner of speaking have to [convey] that you are a cop.”
