Ranbir Kapoor begins 'Ramayana: Part 2' schedule; SPOTTED on film sets with producer Namit Malhotra - PICS

Ranbir Kapoor is back on the sets of Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’, this time to reportedly resume shooting Part 2 of the mythological epic. The actor, who has been busy with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’, returned to the film sets to shoot for the next part of the epic two-part saga. New photos of the star in his casual attire emerged from the film’s set ahead of his departure from the city.

Ranbir Kapoor begins shooting for ‘Ramayana: Part 2’

Images circulating online show Kapoor posing with a lady who later shared the photos online. The two were seen chatting away before posing for the click. RK was seen rocking his clean-shaven look again, while dressed casually in athletic wear, with a cap on his head. Also seen on the sets was producer Namit Malhotra, taking a seat and smiling amid the huge sets and prep work going on in the background. Malhotra’s pic was shared with the caption, “Movie sets Camera And let the magic begin.”As per the latest buzz, Kapoor has already started filming portions of the second instalment of the ambitious project. The storyline for ‘Ramayana: Part 2’ will reportedly follow the events after the abduction of Sita.

Sunny Deol, Yash expected to join the cast

Actor Sunny Deol, who portrays Lord Hanuman, is expected to join the shoot soon, after wrapping up work on his next with director AR Murugadoss. The upcoming schedule is also expected to feature several other key cast members, including Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Yash as the antagonist Ravana.Last year, news reports stated that the team had shot portions of Part 2 as well before wrapping up filming to begin post-production work on the film before its Diwali 2026 release. Meanwhile, a rough cut of ‘Ramayana: Part I’ was reportedly screened for a select audience in Los Angeles and the reactions have been largely positive. The second part is slated to release on Diwali 2027.

Ranbir Kapoor to complete ‘Love and War’ shoot

Meanwhile, Ranbir, who is also juggling multiple work commitments, was spotted at the airport late Wednesday night. While the purpose of his travel is not known, the actor, also has a portion of ‘Love and War’ still to be shot with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, before he film is lined up for its release.
