‘Raja Shivaji’ debuted with a staggering Rs. 11.35 crore, the highest opening ever for Marathi cinema. Within just three days, it surpassed the lifetime collections of the 2014 hit ‘Lai Bhaari’. Unlike typical big-budget films that witness a “Monday crash,” ‘Raja Shivaji’ doubled the previous Monday record held by ‘Ved’, collecting Rs. 5.60 crore.
