Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest release ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ directed by B. V. Nandini Reddy has crossed the Rs 30 crore mark at the box office after its release on June 19. After Samantha had earlier shared how she was roped in later for the film, filmmaker Raj Nidimoru shared what the film had initially looked like.

Raj Nidimoru shares how the story changed

In a conversation with News18, Raj Nidimoru revealed that the film was earlier about a daughter-in-law finding a space in the newly married family. He explained that the story had some action, but it was much smaller in scale. He said, “There was action but I wanted to push the envelope with it. As it expanded into a more action-heavy film, we realised that we’ve a homegrown actor with a great range of skill set.”As the story changed and became a bigger action film, the makers felt Samantha was the right choice for the lead role because of her acting ability and action skills.

Samantha earlier revealed Sai Pallavi was the first choice

Before the film’s release, Samantha also spoke about how she became part of the project during an Instagram question and answer session. She revealed that she was not the original choice for the lead role. According to Samantha, the film was first planned with Sai Pallavi in mind. She said, “I didn’t choose this movie, but this movie chose me. The idea behind Tralala is to focus on female-led content, so the initial idea for this film was to pitch it to Sai Pallavi garu. I knew she was very busy and didn’t have the time. Then the makers tweaked the film for me, and hopefully Maa Inti Bangaaram works.”The ‘Kushi’ actor also tagged Sai Pallavi in her post and said she hopes they can work together in the future under her production banner, Tralala.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s next project

On the work front, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is working on her upcoming project ‘Rakht Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom’.
