Raj Kundra shared his love at first sight experience with Shilpa Shetty. He revealed his father’s initial reservations about Shilpa. Raj persuaded his father to meet her. His parents instantly adored Shilpa. Shilpa playfully added that her in-laws love her more than Raj. Their love story began in 2007 and they married in 2009.

Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty’s love story has all the makings of a fairytale—an unexpected first meeting, initial family hesitations, and eventually, a bond that won everyone over. Recently, Raj opened up about how he fell for Shilpa at first sight and how his father reacted to him dating an actress.

Raj recalls love at first sight

In conversation on Farah Khan’s latest YouTube vlog, Raj revealed that when he first saw Shilpa Shetty, it was love at first sight. However, his father wasn’t initially pleased about him dating an actress, carrying the usual stereotypes about their lifestyle. Raj, however, persuaded him to meet Shilpa in person before forming any judgments.

Winning over the family

After that first meeting, all of his father’s doubts disappeared. The businessman shared that his parents instantly warmed up to Shilpa, to the point that they became deeply fond of her themselves. He joked that it felt like even they had experienced love at first sight with her.

Shilpa’s playful addition

Shilpa playfully added with a smile that her in-laws adore her even more than they love Raj. He agreed with a nod, while Farah burst out laughing, calling the moment the best part of their conversation.Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty’s story began in 2007 when they met during the launch of Shilpa’s perfume line, in the UK, where Raj was involved in promotions. What started as a professional collaboration soon turned into romance. They married on 22 November 2009 in a grand ceremony and welcomed their son, Viaan, in 2012. Eight years later, their family grew with the arrival of their daughter, Samisha, born through surrogacy in 2020.
