Deepika’s film exit over work hours

The conversation around fixed working hours for actors intensified when reports suggested that Deepika bowed out of a film owing to her preference for an eight-hour shift, particularly after welcoming daughter Dua, with husband Ranveer Singh. This and other factors reportedly played a role in her exit from ‘Spirit’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD Part 2’. Padukone addressed the issue in interviews with CNBC-TV18 and Brut, clarifying that her demands were reasonable. “I don’t think what I’m asking for is ridiculously unfair, and I think only someone who’s worked in the system enough will know that the conditions that we work in,” she said. She added that she has never shied away from “challenging the status quo”. She went on to add, “If I can see that something can be different or better, even if there are systems that are age-old, I’m okay to ruffle those feathers… I’m okay being abused at. I can very easily cut out the noise.”Deepika Will be seen next in the film ‘King’, starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Go to Source
