Pooja Bhatt spills the beans on her past relationship with Bobby Deol: 'It was a magical time of my life'

Before Bobby Deol settled into married life with Tanya Deol and became one of Bollywood’s most loved family men, he was once in a relationship with Pooja Bhatt. Years later, Pooja has now spoken warmly about that chapter of her life, calling it one of her most memorable experiences. During a recent conversation, the actor-filmmaker reflected on love, heartbreak, and why some relationships deserve silence instead of public analysis.The discussion with Vickey Lalwani began when Pooja was asked why she chose not to aggressively pursue mainstream acting after her debut film ‘Daddy’. She admitted that acting was not her biggest priority at the time and hinted that someone she was dating back then was not particularly supportive of her film career. As the conversation turned toward Bobby Deol, Pooja acknowledged their relationship without hesitation. When asked whether she was deeply in love with him, she replied with a smile, “Of course. What’s not to fall in love with?” Remembering their time together, she added, “It was a magical time of my life, and he was a magical human being to be with.”

Why Pooja Bhatt refuses to discuss the breakup

While many celebrity breakups often become public spectacles, Pooja made it clear that she has no interest in revisiting old wounds or revealing personal details about why the relationship ended. “I don’t think it is in good taste to sit down today and talk about why my relationship with him ended,” she said.The actor explained that life naturally takes people in different directions and not every relationship is meant to last forever. According to her, the important thing is to preserve dignity for everyone involved.Pooja further stressed that relationships should be respected even after they end because people move on and build new lives with others over time. “He is a married man today, father of grown-up children, has a wonderful new surge in his career,” she said while speaking about Bobby.

Pooja Bhatt also expressed admiration for Bobby Deol’s recent career resurgence and particularly appreciated his work in ‘Animal’. “I loved him in Animal. For me, he made the film. I’m so happy for him,” she shared. The actor added that maintaining grace is extremely important when speaking about people who were once an important part of your life.“Dignity and grace for the present, for not only your own life but for the people who have been in your life, and the people who they have in their life, is a very important thing to maintain,” she explained.

Bobby Deol’s career revival

Bobby Deol began his acting journey with ‘Barsaat’ in 1995 and soon became a popular face with films like ‘Gupt’, ‘Soldier’, ‘Humraaz’, and ‘Apne’. After a quieter phase in his career, the actor made a strong comeback with projects such as ‘Race 3’ and ‘Animal’, earning praise for his intense performances. Up next, Bobby will be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bandar’ and YRF’s ‘Alpha’, which also stars Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt’s half-sister.Bobby married Tanya Deol in 1996, and the couple share two sons, Aryaman and Dharam Deol.
