Police stop gatherings outside Mannat; SRK’s fans react

Shah Rukh Khan's 60th Birthday: Police RESTRICT gatherings outside Mannat; Fans continue celebrations by cutting cakes - WATCH

As Shah Rukh Khan’s fans flocked to Bandstand on Saturday evening with the hope of ringing in the superstar’s 60th birthday, Mumbai Police reportedly imposed crowd-control measures outside his residence, Mannat. As fans continued to gather outside Mannat to witness SRK’s midnight appearance, the police were seen swinging into action and restricting gatherings directly in front of the iconic bungalow.Every year, fans from across India are known to assemble outside Mannat’s gates to catch a glimpse of SRK during his traditional midnight appearance. However, this year, fans were in for a disappointment. According to fan posts, the police had cordoned off the area near the gate due to safety concerns.

Police bar fans from gathering outside Mannat

“Police have restricted fans from entering Bandstand #Mannat,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), sharing a photo of the stretch. Another added, “Fans who are reaching Mannat can gather on the sea-facing wall side. Police have moved the fans away from the front of Mannat’s gate.”A third user posted pictures from outside the actor’s residence, writing, “@iamsrk sir happy happier happiest birthday. Was present at #Mannat but police are not allowing gatherings.”

Celebrations continue

While many fans expressed disappointment, their celebrations continued with great enthusiasm, with “#HappyBirthdaySRK” and other hashtags continuing to trend across social media platforms.Although SRK was a no-show, fans were seen gathering together to sing him the birthday song a little past midnight, cut cakes and also release crown-shaped balloons.

SRK celebrates his birthday in Alibaug

While ETimes broke the news of SRK hosting a quieter and intimate bash at his Alibaug home, fans were hopeful of the superstar making an appearance at midnight as well. However, as Farah Khan’s post suggests, the actor will likely ring in his birthday with friends and family after which he will head back home to greet his fans.Director Siddharth Anand is also expected to release a special first-look glimpse of his highly anticipated film ‘King’.
