Piyush’s advice to Anurag on getting upset

Piyush Mishra’s advice to Anurag Kashyap on getting upset over his controversial remark: ‘Don't be like me'

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently opened up about his candid relationships with Piyush Mishra and Manoj Bajpayee, sharing how close friendships in Bollywood are built on honesty and concern. He is known for being honest always when it comes to expressing his opinions. Speaking to News18 Showsha, Anurag revealed that Piyush often gets upset when he reacts bluntly to industry matters. “He loves me. He also gets upset when I react. He tells me, ‘Kyun? Just stop!’ He cautions me that he wasted his life reacting to things and that I shouldn’t become like him,” Anurag Kashyap shared.

Anurag also spoke about his bond with Manoj Bajpayee, who doesn’t shy away from calling him out for controversial remarks. “When I do or say something, Manoj tells me, ‘Yaar, tum kyun karte ho aise?’ He has lived through life and is a very practical person,” Anurag explained. Despite their occasional disagreements, Anurag appreciates Manoj’s guidance and honesty. Anurag added by saying that Manoj is like an elder brother to him even though he looks ten times younger than him. “He’s somebody who has always looked out for me. He gives me the most honest advice,” said the director.

Silent but strong friendships

Anurag Kashyap emphasized that while he may not publicly flaunt his friendships, he values them deeply. “All these friendships I’ve in my life are very silent, including the ones I share with (Vikramaditya) Motwane and Nawazuddin (Siddiqui),” he said. He also explained that conversations usually revolve around cinema due to everyone’s busy schedules. The director concluded by saying that people really don’t understand what they should talk to him about because he don’t speak about anything else apart from cinema. “Maybe I’m boring that way! But when we meet, we do chat,” Anurag added.
