'Peddi' Controversy: Janhvi Kapoor's alleged chats mention Sreeleela; 'They’ll say close up and put camera on your..., cant trust '

Fresh discussions around ‘Peddi’ have once again gained attention online after a series of alleged private messages linked to Janhvi Kapoor began circulating on social media platforms. The screenshots, which remain unverified, surfaced shortly after director Buchi Babu Sana addressed criticism surrounding the film and its portrayal of women. The reported conversations have now triggered another round of debate around the film and Janhvi Kapoor’s character, Achiyyamma.

Alleged chats gain attention online

The screenshots began circulating across social media and quickly became a topic of discussion among viewers and fan communities. As reported by India Today, according to the alleged exchanges, concerns regarding Janhvi Kapoor’s role may have existed before the criticism surrounding the film became widely discussed online.

Janhvi Kapoor reportedly spoke about parents on set

One of the messages being widely shared reportedly involved a discussion about the role parents can play during film shoots. Referring to actress Sreeleela, Janhvi allegedly mentioned that the actress is often accompanied by her mother while working. She also reportedly suggested that the atmosphere may have been different if her father, producer Boney Kapoor, had been present during filming. Janhvi lost her mother, legendary actress Sridevi, in February 2018.

Actress reportedly expressed frustration

Another alleged exchange suggested that Janhvi had spoken about difficulties she was experiencing during the process. The reported message reflected her frustration regarding the situation. She wrote, “You have no idea what I’ve been dealing with. Trying to make them understand (sic).” The alleged conversation also included comments related to trust and concerns regarding how certain scenes may be filmed. Responding to concerns connected to body doubles, Janhvi reportedly said, “Ya I’ve said this but you know how it is here. They’ll say close up and put camera on your cleavage. U can’t trust anything (sic).” The screenshots surfaced while ‘Peddi’ continues to face criticism from a section of viewers regarding the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor’s character Achiyyamma.Meanwhile, ‘Peddi’ has crossed Rs 100 crores worldwide within 3 days, as reported by Sacnilk.
