‘Peddi’ box office collection day 17: Ram Charan film jumps 30 percent; Faces fresh challenge from Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’

Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s action drama ‘Peddi’ recorded a notable improvement in collections on its 17th day at the box office. The film, which is now well into its third week, benefited from the weekend rush.According to Sacnilk, ‘Peddi’ collected Rs 1.95 crore net in India on Day 17. The figure represents a 30 percent rise compared to the Rs 1.50 crore net earned on Day 16. The film continued its theatrical run across 1,782 shows.

Total collections continue to climb

The film’s India net collection has reached Rs 231.45 crore. Its India gross collection now stands at Rs 274.01 crore. It earned Rs 20 lakhs from international markets on Day 17.This has taken the film’s overseas gross total to Rs 52.85 crore. As a result, ‘Peddi’s worldwide gross collection has climbed to an impressive Rs 326.86 crore. ‘Peddi’ recorded an overall Telugu occupancy of 24.73 percent on Day 17. Morning shows registered 14.36 percent occupancy. Audience turnout improved during the afternoon which recorded 25.91 percent occupancy. Evening shows stood at 23.73 percent, while night shows emerged as the strongest segment with 26.45 percent occupancy.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana lead collections

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remained the biggest contributors to the film’s daily earnings. The combined market generated Rs 2 crore gross on Day 17.Karnataka added Rs 14 lakhs to the tally. Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 1 lakh while the remaining regions added around Rs 10 lakhs.

‘Maa Inti Bangaram’ begins on a strong note

While ‘Peddi’ continues its successful theatrical journey, it has now found fresh competition from Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest release, ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’.Directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy, the action-family entertainer collected Rs 5.35 crore net in India on its first day from 2,658 shows.Its domestic gross collection reached Rs 6.20 crore.
