'Pathirathri': Navya Nair faces harassment during promotions; Soubin Shahir protects the actress

During a promotional appearance for ‘Pathirathri’ in Kozhikode, actress Navya Nair encountered an alarming situation when a man reportedly harassed her. Fortunately, actor Soubin Shahir was quick to come to her aid, prioritizing her safety. Navya demonstrated remarkable poise in handling the ordeal.

An unexpected incident occurred during the promotional event of ‘Pathirathri’ at a mall in Kozhikode when actress Navya Nair was allegedly harassed by a man in the crowd. The incident took place yesterday (October 12, 2025), when the film’s cast was leaving the venue post event.In a video shared by ICG Facebook handle, we can see actor Soubin Shahir, who was walking alongside Navya, acting swiftly to stop the man’s inappropriate attempt and ensured her safety.

Navya Nair deals the situation in a cool manner

As reported by Manorama Online, Navya Nair handled the situation calmly but firmly. The actress gave a sharp and stern look at the man involved before moving forward with Soubin’s support. The actress was joined by Ann Augustine, who was also present at the event for promotional activities.

Navya Nair responds to viral video criticism

Meanwhile, Navya Nair recently addressed a viral video controversy. In the clip in question, it appeared to show her refusing a photo with a little girl. The video went viral and triggered online backlash.Reacting to it, Navya Nair clarified the issue through a new Instagram video featuring the same child and her mother, explaining that the misunderstanding had been resolved. She wrote, “I never intended to speak against anyone. The person who posted the video has apologized and deleted it, but reaction videos are still circulating.”Expressing her hurt over the hate comments, Navya added, “If someone asks why I behaved that way, I understand — they didn’t know the truth. But when people say things like ‘let her leg break while dancing,’ it truly hurts.”On the other hand, Soubin Shahir and Navya Nair’s ‘Pathirathri’ is all set to hit the big screens on October 17 ahead of Diwali. The trailer for the movie was unveiled recently and it promises an intriguing thriller.
