However, the weekdays painted a different picture. Monday saw a sharp dip, followed by a small recovery on Tuesday, before sliding again on Wednesday and Thursday. Even so, the overall first-week numbers have been considered fair for the genre.

Film prepares for strong box office competition

As the film moves into its second week, the ride is not going to be smooth. Two fresh releases—‘Baaghi 4’ and ‘The Bengal Files’, are arriving in cinemas from today. Both films are expected to eat into the screen share and audience base of ‘Param Sundari’. How well Sidharth and Janhvi’s film stands against this wave of competition will decide its further box office journey.

Story blends romance between north and south

The film follows Param Sachdev, a North Indian boy, who finds love in Thekkepattu Sundari Damodharan Pillai, a South Indian girl. Their romance travels between Delhi and Kerala, blending two cultures in a light-hearted narrative.Directed by Tushar Jalota, the film stars Sidharth Malhotra as Param and Janhvi Kapoor as Sundari. Sanjay Kapoor and Manjot Singh also play key roles, while the music duo Sachin–Jigar has added their signature energy to the soundtrack. The cinematography, especially the visuals shot across Kerala, has been widely noticed.

‘Param Sundari’ film review

The Times of India gave the film 3 stars and shared, “What works in the film’s favour are the picturesque Kerala backdrops, tender moments, and Sachin-Jigar’s music—particularly ‘Pardesiya’, ‘Danger’, and ‘Sundari Ke Pyaar Mein’. The humour is light in parts, though not every gag works equally well.”The review further praised the lead pair, adding, “The real highlight is the charming chemistry between Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, who make the opposites-attract arc believable and enjoyable. The actors light up the screen with their presence, especially Janhvi who looks gorgeous in the traditional Malayali avatar. Sanjay Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Renji Panicker, and Siddhartha Shankar lend able support. Even if it largely remains in the known territory, fans of breezy romances will find it a pleasant watch.”DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
